The first step in reviewing data from Solid State Recorders is to transfer recorded files from removable memory on to ground station laptop or desktop PCs, and this is achieved by use of a card reader. There have been substantial improvements in the underlying flash memory technology used by SES over the past years, and this results in optimal combinations of reader and storage media, giving significantly faster download and more reliable data.

Card readers supplied by SES are compatible with all Memory Cards snd Cartridges supplied by SES, and there are some optimal combinations that will guarantee best performance. SES will be happy to advise on suitable storage media and card readers for particular applications.

Rugged storage media offered by SES are in two categories; PCMCIA format ATA Flash Memory Card and for larger data capcities, the high capacity Memory Cartridge. SES has designed and supplies optimised card readers for both types of storage media.
